Middle School 4-H
All students in middle school are members of 4-H.  Students attend 4-H once per month during their science class period.  Sixth grade 4-H meets on Thursday; seventh grade meets on Wednesday; eighth grade meets on Tuesday. University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service agents, Mr. Hickey and Mrs. Miller, work in with the middle school science teachers to address standards in a hands-on, project-based manner. Student work is kept in 4-H portfolios that are updated and maintained by 4-H staff and are the basis for determining 4-H scholarships.  Students are encouraged to participate in trips and other activities sponsored by 4-H and are given opportunities to participate in fundraisers to cover the cost of the trips. More information is available through the McIntosh County 4-H Youth Development website.
